• As a Senior Quantum Field Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between our advanced quantum hardware and software and the specific, often intricate, requirements of bioscience researchers, pharmaceutical companies, and other life science organizations.
• This involves deeply understanding customer challenges, identifying opportunities where quantum computing can offer a significant advantage, and guiding the application of IonQ's quantum systems to address these challenges.
• You will engage directly with prospective and existing customers, acting as a trusted technical advisor and quantum evangelist.
• Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of activities, including technical pre-sales support, post-sales implementation guidance, customer education, and feedback loop management to inform product strategy and roadmap.
• You will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept projects that showcase the value proposition of IonQ's quantum computing solutions for bioscience applications such as drug discovery, molecular simulation, personalized medicine, and genomic analysis.
• This will require a strong grasp of quantum algorithms relevant to these domains, as well as an understanding of classical computational methods currently employed in bioscience.
• You will collaborate closely with IonQ's sales, marketing, product management, and research and development teams to ensure alignment and maximize customer success.
• A key aspect of your role will be to gather and synthesize customer feedback, market intelligence, and emerging trends within the bioscience sector to influence the development of new features, applications, and quantum solutions.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Quantum Information Science, Physics, Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in a customer-facing technical role, such as Field Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Consultant, preferably within the scientific or high-tech industry.
• Deep understanding of quantum computing principles, algorithms, and hardware architectures, with a specific focus on applications relevant to the bioscience domain (e.g., molecular simulation, drug discovery, optimization problems).
• Familiarity with common bioscience research workflows, computational biology tools, and relevant datasets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
