Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Architect and deliver high-impact, full-stack features for Editorialist’s luxury e-commerce platform that serves ultra-high-net-worth individuals (average net worth > $550 M). You will own the technical roadmap for entire product areas—from ideation and system design to deployment and post-launch optimization—ensuring every line of code elevates the client experience.
- • Lead the design of scalable, fault-tolerant systems using Next.js (SSR, dynamic routing, ISR), React.js 18, Node.js 18, and MySQL 8. Translate complex business requirements into elegant, modular code that can gracefully handle traffic spikes during global luxury drops and editorial launches.
- • Drive performance engineering across the stack: reduce TTFB and LCP to sub-second levels, implement aggressive code-splitting, lazy-load media assets, tune MySQL indexes and queries, and leverage Cloudflare CDN edge caching to deliver a premium, lightning-fast experience on every continent.
- • Build and evolve secure, versioned RESTful APIs that power everything from shoppable editorial stories to personalized styling recommendations. Ensure backward compatibility, comprehensive error handling, and OpenAPI documentation so internal and external partners can integrate seamlessly.
- • Champion a culture of observability and reliability by instrumenting services with New Relic APM, ELK logging, and custom Grafana dashboards. Proactively hunt down memory leaks, CPU hotspots, and DB query anomalies before they ever reach our elite clientele.
- • Collaborate daily with Product, Design, Styling, and DevOps to translate luxury-brand aesthetics into pixel-perfect, accessible UI components. Run rapid A/B experiments tracked in GA4 and BigQuery to validate conversion hypotheses and iterate based on real user behavior.
- • Own the CI/CD lifecycle: containerize services with Docker, orchestrate zero-downtime deployments via Jenkins pipelines, and maintain blue-green environments on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, ElastiCache). Automate security scanning and dependency updates to keep our attack surface minimal.
- • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, architecture reviews, and lunch-and-learn sessions. Establish coding standards, enforce rigorous code reviews, and evangelize test-driven development using Jest and React Testing Library.
- • Leverage cutting-edge AI developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Tabnine) to accelerate feature delivery and coach the team on prompt engineering, automated refactoring, and AI-assisted test generation—turning every engineer into a 10× contributor.
- • Contribute to multi-region expansion by engineering internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) frameworks, GDPR/CCPA-compliant data handling, and region-specific performance budgets. Ensure Editorialist feels native from Beverly Hills to the French Riviera.
- • Influence the technical vision at the executive level by presenting architecture decision records (ADRs) to Rafael Ortiz (CEO & NexTag co-founder) and the leadership team. Your proposals directly shape the platform that merges content, commerce, and personal styling for the world’s most discerning shoppers.
