- • Senior Software Development Engineer at AnyVan, a leading logistics technology company focused on reducing wasted miles and carbon emissions through intelligent matching of jobs to available vehicles.
- • Design, build, and operate production-grade systems that scale, tackling complex technical challenges across backend, infrastructure, and data flows while writing clean, well-tested code with long-term maintainability.
- • Work within a product-led, agile engineering team of 400+ across London, Cape Town, and Bogota, collaborating with product, data, and commercial stakeholders to influence technical direction and architectural decisions.
- • Contribute to evolving AnyVan’s platform into a truly intelligent logistics marketplace by modeling real-time job-level costs, deepening the driver platform, creating a two-sided marketplace for job sharing, and ensuring reliable scaling amid growing volume and complexity.
- • Mentor engineers, champion testing and observability, and help raise the technical bar across teams while enjoying ownership and real impact in a fast-growing scale-up environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong backend engineering skills in Java, Python, or similar languages
- • Solid understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance
- • Experience with CI/CD, modern deployment practices, and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
- • Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment
- • Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence beyond code and work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
