- • Build, maintain, and scale Go and Python-based clients, projects, and their supporting tools for New Relic’s Infrastructure Instrumentation team.
- • Contribute to the development and enhancement of Kubernetes integration tools that provide full observability into customer K8s environments, including backend services and dashboards.
- • Develop and maintain instrumentation agents and integrations for distributed systems such as Kafka, MySQL, and other technologies used by enterprise customers.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research, discuss, and implement service improvements, adopting new tools and technologies to solve complex observability challenges.
- • Ship software incrementally and frequently, enabling continuous feedback loops and rapid iteration within an agile, DevOps-driven team structure.
- • Participate in second-layer support rotations, taking ownership of the full lifecycle of the software you build, from development to production monitoring and incident response.
- • Work on UI components that visualize data gathered from multiple backend services, ensuring intuitive and actionable dashboards for customers.
- • Engage in open source contributions to projects such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, or related observability tools, growing both personal and organizational reputation in the ecosystem.
- • Operate autonomously in a globally distributed team that values async communication and independent problem-solving while maintaining strong human connections through team ceremonies.
- • Apply deep knowledge of Linux systems, large-scale distributed systems, and software architecture to design robust, scalable instrumentation solutions.
- • Maintain high standards of code quality and system reliability while working in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software on a regular cadence.
- • Demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and a self-motivated approach to learning new technologies and adapting to evolving customer needs.
- • Share code ownership and actively participate in collaborative decision-making with colleagues across the team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience and passion for instrumentation, agents, large-scale distributed systems, Linux systems, software architectures, and the Go programming language.
- • Strong Golang and Python experience with familiarity in scaling applications within Kubernetes environments.
- • Willingness to work on UI components to display queried data from multiple backend services.
- • Autonomous, cross-functional, and agile mindset with a track record of thriving in fast-paced environments focused on regular, high-quality software delivery.
- • Self-motivated, accountable, and skilled in creative problem-solving.
- • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues on important decisions and share code ownership.
