Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the future of Platform Engineering: As a Senior Software Product Engineer you will co-create Humanitec Platform Orchestrator v2, the category-defining Internal Developer Platform that is already trusted by Fortune-500 teams to give thousands of developers true self-service. Your code will directly influence how enterprises build, deploy, and run cloud-native applications for the next decade.
- • Ship across the full modern stack: Every week you will move fluidly between Go micro-services on Kubernetes, React/TypeScript web apps, CLIs, Terraform/OpenTofu automation, and emerging LLM-powered chat interfaces. You will write tests in Go, Robot Framework, and Playwright, push through GitHub Actions, and watch Datadog dashboards light up with real customer traffic.
- • Drive end-to-end product ownership: From the first Notion design doc to the last Datadog alert, you own the lifecycle of every feature. You will interview users, size the opportunity, write RFCs, open PRs, shepherd them through peer review, and stay on-call until the metrics prove the change is safe and valuable.
- • Debug at the sharp edge: When a customer’s production pipeline stalls at 3 a.m., you will pair with them on Slack, reproduce the issue in a sandbox cluster, craft a minimal failing test, and land a patch before their morning stand-up. This hands-on ownership is how we earn trust and learn what to build next.
- • Balance craft with velocity: We deliberately invest in design docs, clean abstractions, and pervasive tests, but we also know when “good enough” beats “perfect.” You will champion pragmatic decisions that keep the roadmap moving while leaving the codebase healthier than you found it.
- • Shape the roadmap, not just the backlog: You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with founders, product, and customers to turn fuzzy ideas into prioritized epics. Your weekly demos and data-driven retros will steer what Platform Engineering looks like in 2025 and beyond.
- • Level-up the entire team: Through thoughtful pull-request feedback, lightning talks, and pair-programming sessions you will raise the bar for code quality, observability, and DevEx across a fully-remote, timezone-distributed squad.
- • Thrive in all-remote, high-trust culture: We default to asynchronous communication (GitHub, Linear, Notion) and protect deep-focus time, yet we jump on Zoom the moment white-boarding or customer empathy demands it. You will model transparent, concise writing and inclusive decision-making.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years building and running production-grade distributed systems on Kubernetes, AWS/GCP/Azure
- • Professional proficiency in Go or demonstrable ability to ramp quickly; familiarity with React/TypeScript a plus
- • Deep hands-on experience with Docker, Terraform/OpenTofu, and modern CI/CD pipelines
- • Comfort owning on-call rotations and debugging live customer environments with Datadog, Prometheus, or similar
- • Excellent written and verbal English; able to craft clear design docs and customer-facing explanations
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible working hours and a €2,000 home-office stipend
- • 30 days paid vacation plus local public holidays, and a “take the time you need” sick-day policy
- • Annual €1,500 professional-development budget for conferences, courses, or certifications
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing, category-defining startup
