- • Design, build, and operate backend services and internal tools that power the Power Packs customer experience, including pack configuration, purchase flows, and end-to-end pack lifecycle integrations.
- • Contribute to the shared data foundations that enable scalable, flexible marketplace experiences across the platform, with a focus on modeling data for white-label and multi-tenant architectures.
- • Participate across the entire software development lifecycle—from concept and design to production release—ensuring high-quality, maintainable code and system reliability.
- • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into clean, extensible APIs and technical designs.
- • Troubleshoot and resolve data inconsistencies, integration failures, and service-level issues within a large, distributed codebase spanning multiple systems.
- • Enhance system observability, security, and engineering best practices by implementing monitoring, logging, and documentation standards that improve team velocity and system resilience.
- • Leverage AI tooling, particularly Claude, to accelerate software design, architecture decisions, and implementation tasks while maintaining rigorous code quality and engineering judgment.
- • Work with cloud-native infrastructure on AWS, including serverless components like AWS Lambda, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and orchestration via ECS.
- • Apply strong database fundamentals to design and optimize both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) data models for high-throughput, low-latency applications.
- • Contribute to full-stack plumbing as needed to connect backend services with frontend experiences and third-party systems, ensuring seamless user journeys.
- • Maintain and improve technical documentation to ensure knowledge sharing, onboarding efficiency, and long-term system maintainability.
- • Support Agile/Scrum methodologies through active participation in sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- • Engage in team collaboration and knowledge sharing, with a preference for onsite partnership; candidates within one hour of the Santa Ana, CA office may be expected to work onsite most of the time.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend or data-intensive systems in production environments
- • 4+ years of strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework
- • Strong fundamentals in relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB) databases and data modeling
- • Experience building applications on AWS with serverless infrastructure such as AWS Lambda
- • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
- • Experience collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to turn business requirements into clean, scalable APIs
