📋 Description
- • Senior Software Engineer, Edge at Lumana Inc. is a critical role focused on building the software that runs on the core device layer of Lumana’s AI video security platform, enabling real-time processing, secure communication, and AI deployment at the edge.
- • Day to day, the engineer will contribute to the development of the hybrid edge-cloud platform, develop video management capabilities (streaming, recording, real-time AI processing), optimize systems for low-latency high-performance workloads, build secure communication pipelines between edge and cloud, collaborate with AI/ML engineers to deploy models on-device, and participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
- • Lumana is a fast-growing AI video security company founded in 2021, backed by top Silicon Valley investors, with a small, dynamic engineering team that values ownership, speed, and execution. The company delivers intelligent video security solutions that understand visual data to enhance safety, streamline operations, and enable instant response.
- • In this role, the engineer will gain deep expertise in edge computing, real-time systems, embedded software, and AI model deployment on hardware-constrained devices, while making visible, lasting impact on a product used by customers in production environments every day.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on systems or performance-critical applications
- • Strong experience with modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, or TypeScript
- • Proven experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming
- • Solid understanding of Docker and containerization
- • Experience working with embedded systems or edge computing environments
- • Strong understanding of networking and distributed systems fundamentals
