- • Senior Software Engineer, Elixir role focused on building and maintaining scalable backend systems that power Telnyx’s global connectivity platform, directly contributing to the company’s mission of enabling seamless interconnection between people, devices, and applications through innovative APIs and infrastructure.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and systems across engineering teams; debugging production issues across services and multiple stack levels; collaborating with engineers company-wide to build large-scale features; and improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes to ensure reliability and performance.
- • Telnyx is a profitable, industry-leading provider of private, global, multi-cloud IP networks and edge connectivity technology, with a strong commitment to innovation, continuous learning, and fostering a growth-oriented environment for its engineering teams across multiple global locations.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in functional programming (Elixir/Erlang), distributed systems, microservices, and scalable backend architecture while influencing technical direction and mentoring peers through improved standards and collaboration.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of professional software development experience with a functional programming language (Elixir/Erlang preferred)
- • Experience working with relational databases at scale
- • Deep knowledge of microservice architecture patterns and anti-patterns
- • Experience with message queues like RabbitMQ and Kafka
- • Understanding of challenges in concurrent and distributed programming
- • Experience with exotic databases/key-value stores such as ETS, Mnesia, Cassandra, and Redis
- • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Jenkins, Prometheus, or RabbitMQ
