📋 Description
- • Participate across the entire software development lifecycle, taking features from concept to production release for the Power Packs customer-facing experience.
- • Build backend services, APIs, and data models that support customer-facing product experiences and internal operational workflows using Java and Spring Boot.
- • Contribute to frontend application development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and NextJS to deliver seamless end-to-end user experiences.
- • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and partner teams to translate complex business requirements into clean, extensible technical designs across backend and frontend systems.
- • Troubleshoot data, integration, service, and UI issues across a large distributed codebase to ensure system reliability and performance.
- • Contribute to technical documentation to improve maintainability, knowledge sharing, and team velocity.
- • Help raise the bar on system design, code quality, observability, and engineering best practices across the Power Packs engineering team.
- • Leverage AI tooling, with a preference for Claude, to accelerate software design, architecture, and implementation while maintaining strong engineering judgment and code quality.
- • Design and build scalable APIs and service integrations that support new product capabilities such as white-label experiences and new collectible categories.
- • Work with containerization and orchestration infrastructure including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS to deploy and manage services.
- • Apply security, testing, monitoring, and documentation best practices in daily engineering work.
- • Operate within Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver iterative product improvements and respond to changing business needs.
- • Support both customer-facing applications and internal tools that power the full pack lifecycle, including configuration, purchase, and integration with adjacent collection systems.
- • Work in a hybrid environment where candidates within one-hour commuting distance of the Santa Ana, California office may be expected to work onsite most of the time, with final arrangements discussed during recruitment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of software engineering experience building production applications, with substantial backend experience and meaningful frontend work
- • 3+ years of strong proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework
- • 3+ years of experience with modern frontend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and NextJS
- • Strong fundamentals in relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB) databases and data modeling
- • Experience designing and building scalable APIs and service integrations
- • Experience with containerization and orchestration infrastructure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)
