- • Senior Software Engineer I, Product Experience at Forma Inc. is a pivotal role focused on building and maintaining the systems that power the member and admin experience across Forma’s benefits platform, including the member portal, admin portal, mobile app, and integrations.
- • Day to day, the engineer will design, build, and maintain backend services for account lifecycle, transactions, and member management; work across React/TypeScript/NestJS codebases; build and consume event-driven integrations using Google Pub/Sub; write tested, production-ready code; take ownership of services in production including on-call, monitoring with Datadog, and incident response; collaborate with product, ops, customer success, and engineering teams; contribute to engineering standards, tooling, and processes; and use AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate development while maintaining strong judgment and ownership.
- • The Product Experience (PX) team at Forma builds intuitive, secure, and scalable experiences that members and customer admins rely on daily, supporting the company’s mission to fix the broken employee benefits market by offering flexible, inclusive benefits programs through a single platform used by industry leaders like Stripe, Zoom, Lululemon, and Affirm.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in fullstack development with TypeScript/NestJS and React, gain hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred), strengthen observability and incident response skills, and grow into a trusted technical contributor who shapes engineering standards and delivery practices at a high-growth startup backed by Emergence and Ribbit Capital.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2–5 years of professional experience building backend services and APIs
- • Strong proficiency in TypeScript/NestJS
- • Solid experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- • Experience with event-driven architectures or messaging systems (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka, SQS/SNS)
- • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure - GCP preferred, but AWS or Azure experience translates well
- • Frontend experience with React and TypeScript (strongly preferred)
