- • Architect and develop the backend systems for Verified Autonomous Remediation, a next-generation agentic workflow that autonomously fixes code issues by rigorously testing and validating AI-generated changes using Sonar’s analysis engine.
- • Design scalable, high-performance services that integrate seamlessly with AI code assistants like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, and Devin to enable trusted, automated code remediation at enterprise scale.
- • Lead the engineering of core components that enforce reliability, security, and maintainability of AI-generated code, ensuring enterprises can automate code fixes without compromising software integrity.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed SonarQube’s static analysis and code quality rules into autonomous remediation workflows, making fixes explainable, consistent, and compliant with enterprise standards.
- • Build and optimize the SonarQube Foundation Agent’s repair capabilities, currently leading in agentic software repair leaderboards, to improve accuracy, reduce false positives, and increase automation adoption among 400,000+ enterprise customers.
- • Implement enterprise-grade context augmentation and constraint systems via SonarSweep and Sonar Context Augmentation to guide AI agents with precise codebase context, reducing errors and increasing trust in autonomous fixes.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of backend features from concept to production, including API design, data modeling, distributed system architecture, and observability pipelines for monitoring remediation outcomes.
- • Drive technical decisions aligned with Sonar’s CODE values: Committed to customers, Obsessed with quality, Deliberate in decisions, Effective as one team, ensuring all systems meet the reliability demands of Fortune 100 clients like Nvidia, Goldman Sachs, and Ford.
- • Work within a globally distributed engineering team across hubs in Geneva, Austin, Bochum, London, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, and Washington D.C., contributing to a fast-paced, profitable, and rapidly growing AI software infrastructure.
- • Solve critical engineering challenges to close the “Trust Gap” in AI-generated code by ensuring every automated fix is verifiable, auditable, and backed by Sonar’s industry-leading code analysis engine.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Sonar’s product suite as the backbone of Agent-Centric Development (AC/DC), enabling millions of developers to adopt autonomous remediation with confidence.
- • Maintain and improve system performance, resilience, and security for a platform used by over 75% of the Fortune 100, where 44% fewer outages occur due to AI-generated code when Sonar is deployed.
- • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and continuous improvement across the remediation stack.
- • Translate complex software quality requirements into robust, production-ready backend systems that scale with the growth of AI-assisted development across global enterprises.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java as the primary language
- • Proven experience designing and scaling distributed backend systems in production environments
- • Deep understanding of static code analysis, code quality metrics, or software verification tools
- • Experience working with AI/ML-powered code generation tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar
