📋 Description
- • Build and ship scalable, testable, and maintainable software solutions for a modern digital learning platform used by organizations to train employees at scale.
- • Work with complex data models and systems to understand and optimize data flow across backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces.
- • Develop using Python and Django in production environments, alongside React and TypeScript for the frontend.
- • Write and optimize SQL queries and design relational data models to support high-performance, data-driven applications.
- • Participate in early-stage product development by reviewing quantitative and qualitative research on clients and learners to inform technical decisions and product strategy.
- • Collaborate closely with product, design, data, and content teams to define viable technical paths for new features and improvements.
- • Lead and participate in code reviews, share technical learnings through documentation and presentations, and mentor junior engineers.
- • Guide engineers in the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to improve velocity without compromising code quality or security.
- • Propose and implement improvements to engineering processes, particularly around adapting to the evolving role of AI in software development.
- • Fix bugs and performance issues across the platform while ensuring zero negative impact on customer experience, especially in legacy or tightly synchronized systems.
- • Embrace a writing-focused culture where collaboration, planning, and ideation occur primarily through written communication.
- • Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies or domains to support evolving product needs.
- • Design and implement solutions with strong emphasis on performance, security, privacy, and scalability.
- • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and help maintain tiered web application architecture including backend services, APIs, and frontend integration.
- • Create and maintain performance monitors and dashboards using observability tools such as Datadog.
- • Support users by partnering with product and support teams to ensure products deliver maximum value.
- • Act as a tech lead by setting best practices for AI integration, code quality, and team development.
- • Participate in tech talks, chapter meetings, and remote happy hours to foster technical growth and team cohesion.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
- • Experience coding in a production Python/Django environment
- • Experience with React and TypeScript
- • Experience writing SQL queries and designing relational data models
- • Experience using agentic development workflows
