- • Senior Software Engineer (Rust) at PhotoRoom SAS, contributing to cross-platform libraries that power iOS, Android, and Web applications used by over 300 million users worldwide, directly impacting how e-commerce businesses create visuals and grow their online presence.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting, developing, and delivering complex features using Rust, WebAssembly, and wgpu; owning work from specification to integration; collaborating with product, web, and mobile teams; and contributing to a live collaboration platform similar to Figma or Google Docs.
- • PhotoRoom SAS is a remote-friendly, Y Combinator-backed company founded in 2019 with 100+ passionate builders, serving major enterprises like Amazon, DoorDash, and Decathlon, and processing over 5 billion images annually through its mobile app, web platform, and API.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Rust and systems programming, gain hands-on experience with WebAssembly and GPU-accelerated graphics (wgpu, WebGPU), influence cross-platform architecture, and grow as a technical leader in a fast-growing, innovative startup environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience developing software with Rust; experience in C/C++ is also appreciated
- • Experience delivering cross-platform client-side code that provides simple interfaces for complex tasks
- • Strong sense of ownership — taking initiative and being comfortable making product and technical decisions
- • Experience working in a talented team within a fast-growing startup
- • Fluency in English (French not required)
- • Nice to have: Experience with OpenGL, Metal, WebGPU, WebAssembly, Elixir, or Erlang
