📋 Description

• • Architect the backbone of Freshworks’ multi-tenant SaaS universe. You will design and evolve the core systems that authenticate millions of users, ingest billions of log lines, and route petabytes of data every day—while keeping latency in the low milliseconds and availability above 99.99 %.
• • Own the full lifecycle of mission-critical services—from whiteboard requirements to production deployment and 24×7 support. You’ll translate product needs into extensible service contracts, write bullet-proof code, and shepherd releases through CI/CD pipelines that you helped shape.
• • Champion cloud-native patterns: micro-services, containerization, infrastructure-as-code, auto-scaling, chaos testing, and blue-green deployments. You will decide when to adopt serverless, when to stick with stateful containers, and how to keep blast radius minimal when things inevitably break.
• • Optimize relentlessly. Profile hot paths, rewrite algorithms, tune JVM/Go runtimes, and squeeze every last millisecond out of databases and caches. You’ll build observability dashboards that surface golden signals (latency, traffic, errors, saturation) and set SLOs that the entire org rallies behind.
• • Scale horizontally without scaling pain. Design sharding strategies, multi-region replication, and eventual consistency models that let us add tenants and geos without downtime. You’ll balance cost and performance, negotiating with FinOps to keep AWS/GCP bills sane while doubling traffic every quarter.
• • Secure everything by default. Embed zero-trust principles, least-privilege IAM, encryption in transit & at rest, and automated vulnerability scanning into every build. You’ll partner with Security & Compliance to pass SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP audits with minimal heroics.
• • Mentor and elevate the team. Conduct deep-dive design reviews, pair program with junior engineers, and create reusable libraries that turn tribal knowledge into institutional assets. Your pull-request comments will become internal lore for clean code and SOLID design.
• • Drive cross-product platform initiatives. Whether it’s a unified identity service, a real-time event bus, or a cost-aware query engine, you’ll align stakeholders, draft RFCs, and deliver MVPs that other teams adopt in weeks—not quarters.
• • Stay curious. Run internal tech talks on new database engines, experiment with eBPF for kernel-level tracing, and prototype Rust micro-services when Go GC pauses become a bottleneck. You’ll turn spikes into production wins and blog posts that boost Freshworks’ engineering brand.
