đź“‹ Description

  • • Are you a seasoned technical leader with a passion for empowering developers and driving innovation in the cloud-native space? Docker Inc. is seeking a highly consultative Senior Solutions Architect to join our dynamic, remote-first team and play a pivotal role in supporting our most important customers. This is a critical technical position that bridges the gap between product development and pre- and post-sales customer engagement, demanding a unique blend of deep technical expertise, sharp business acumen, and influential thought leadership.
  • • As a Senior Solutions Architect at Docker, you will be instrumental in accelerating our customers' container and AI journeys. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, collaborating closely with Account Executives, Post Sales teams, and Product Development to deliver tangible business and technical value. Your primary focus will be on providing high-priority customer technical leadership and contributing to Docker's field technical leadership within your designated area of responsibility.
  • • In this role, you will engage directly with Docker’s most strategic clients, delving into their technical and business objectives, as well as their challenges, particularly as they relate to adopting containers and AI technologies. You will be responsible for crafting and managing comprehensive engagement plans that leverage both existing Docker products and emerging offerings to help customers achieve their critical business goals. A key aspect of your work will involve overseeing rapid prototyping engagements, acting as a “design partner” alongside Docker engineering and customer teams to rigorously validate product-market fit for new and innovative use cases. You will also be tasked with creating and delivering custom demonstrations and compelling content tailored to specific customer scenarios, ensuring that our solutions resonate with their unique needs.
  • • Furthermore, you will deliver high-impact enablement sessions and best-practice guidance to diverse customer audiences, ranging from individual developers to C-level executives. This requires not only a deep understanding of Docker's technology but also the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively. The role necessitates a willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally, representing Docker at client sites, customer locations, and with technical alliance partners, acting as a senior technical ambassador.
  • • Beyond direct customer engagement, you will contribute significantly to Docker's internal technical leadership. You will serve as a thought leader for your specific area of responsibility, both within Docker and in the broader industry. This involves collaborating with fellow “Dockhands” to create and deliver valuable content that educates and inspires. A crucial part of your role will be to gather and synthesize field feedback from customer teams and Docker's pre- and post-sales personnel. You will work closely with the Field CTO and other Solutions Architects to prioritize, contextualize, and correlate these field requests into a cohesive set of actionable recommendations for our product and engineering teams.
  • • Your insights will directly influence product development, as you will work with Docker’s product and engineering teams on workflow enhancements and feature alignment, prioritizing based on revenue impact and customer value. You will often be the “customer zero” for new functionalities, providing early feedback and validation. Your contributions will extend to shaping internal technical enablement strategies and reviewing enablement content to ensure its effectiveness. You will also assist the sales enablement team in delivering technical training for new products and services, ensuring our internal teams are well-equipped to support our customers.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of application development and deployment. You will be at the forefront of containerization and AI technologies, working with a passionate team dedicated to making developers' lives easier. If you are a strategic thinker, a technical problem-solver, and a compelling communicator, we encourage you to apply and join us for a truly remarkable journey.
  • • *What You Will Be Doing:**
  • • **High Priority Customer Technical Leadership:**
  • • Partner with Docker’s most important customers and cross-functional Docker teams to accelerate their container and AI adoption journeys, with a strong focus on optimizing developer workflows.
  • • Engage with customer technical teams and internal Docker stakeholders to deeply understand customer technical and business goals, as well as their challenges related to containerization and AI.
  • • Develop and manage comprehensive engagement plans that strategically utilize existing Docker products and new offerings to achieve critical customer business objectives.
  • • Lead and oversee “design partner” rapid prototyping initiatives, collaborating closely with Docker engineering and customer teams to validate product-market fit for novel use cases.
  • • Create, manage, and deliver bespoke demonstrations and tailored content that directly align with specific customer use cases and technical requirements.
  • • Deliver high-impact enablement sessions and best-practice guidance to diverse customer audiences, from individual developers to executive leadership.
  • • Represent Docker as a senior technical expert, traveling up to 50% domestically and internationally to engage with prospective clients, existing customers, and technical alliance partners.
  • • **Docker Field Technical Leadership (Regional/Area of Responsibility):**
  • • Act as a recognized thought leader for a specific technical domain, both internally within Docker and externally in the industry, contributing to content creation and delivery.
  • • Proactively gather and synthesize valuable field feedback from customer interactions and from Docker’s pre- and post-sales teams.
  • • Collaborate with the Field CTO and fellow Solutions Architects to prioritize, contextualize, and correlate field requests into a cohesive set of prioritized recommendations for product and engineering teams.
  • • Work directly with Docker product and engineering teams to refine workflows and ensure feature alignment with customer use cases, prioritizing based on revenue impact.
  • • Serve as an early adopter and validator (“customer zero”) for new functionalities developed by Docker’s product and engineering teams.
  • • Provide critical input on internal technical enablement needs and customer enablement strategies, including reviewing and refining enablement content.
  • • Support the sales enablement team by contributing to internal technical training for new products and services.
