Senior Specialist - Controllership (Remote - Mumbai)

📋 Description

• • Serve as a Senior Specialist in Controllership, providing strategic financial oversight and operational support to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting across global operations.
• • Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP and international accounting standards.
• • Collaborate closely with finance, accounting, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial controls, internal audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
• • Manage and refine accounting policies and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability within the controllership function as the organization scales globally.
• • Oversee the reconciliation and validation of key general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions, accruals, and prepaid expenses, ensuring zero material discrepancies.
• • Partner with tax and treasury teams to support compliance with local and international tax regulations, including GST, TDS, and other statutory filings in India.
• • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risk, and ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles where applicable.
• • Drive automation and process improvements in accounting workflows, leveraging technology to reduce manual effort and increase reporting speed and reliability.
• • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation, explanations, and support to facilitate smooth audit execution.
• • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities by providing accurate financial data and insights to senior leadership.
• • Ensure timely and accurate payroll accounting and statutory deductions in alignment with Indian labor laws and company policies.
• • Maintain up-to-date documentation of all accounting processes, control frameworks, and policy manuals for internal knowledge transfer and regulatory readiness.
• • Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, proactively adapting internal practices to remain compliant and ahead of industry shifts.
• • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
• • Work within a remote-first environment, coordinating across global time zones with finance teams in the US, Europe, and other international offices to ensure seamless financial operations.
• • Utilize enterprise financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) to execute accounting tasks, generate reports, and maintain data integrity across platforms.
• • Contribute to the development of financial dashboards and KPIs used by leadership to monitor company health, cash flow, and operational efficiency.
• • Ensure all financial documentation is securely stored, easily retrievable, and compliant with retention policies and data privacy regulations.
• • Participate in cross-functional projects related to system implementations, mergers and acquisitions, or international expansion initiatives with a controllership lens.
• • Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive financial data and internal communications.
