- • Ground News is seeking a Senior Sponsorships Manager (Emerging Platforms) to spearhead the growth and scaling of its creator sponsorship strategy across new and evolving digital landscapes. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic leader who can not only define the vision but also execute it hands-on, driving revenue and building a high-performing team. You will operate at the nexus of leadership, sales, content creation, and operational efficiency, translating overarching business objectives into actionable plans. A key aspect of this role involves cultivating robust relationships with creators on platforms where Ground News is still establishing its presence, ensuring that every sponsorship investment yields measurable and impactful results. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented strategic thinker, adept at navigating uncertainty, managing substantial budgets within dynamic, fast-paced settings, and is enthusiastic about pioneering Ground News' footprint on platforms where established playbooks are yet to be written.
- • In this capacity, you will be instrumental in shaping the Creator Marketing & Audience Strategy. This involves developing and maintaining a clear understanding of the factors that contribute to a successful creator sponsorship, moving beyond mere reach metrics to encompass audience intent, content suitability, and the specific context of the platform. You will leverage performance data to build a deep institutional knowledge base, identifying which content formats, creator archetypes, and audience segments yield the highest conversion rates for Ground News. These insights will be crucial for informing discovery efforts and refining overall strategy. Furthermore, you will remain attuned to emerging platform trends, the evolving dynamics of the creator economy, and shifts in audience consumption habits, ensuring that your strategies are contemporary and reflective of current content consumption patterns.
- • Your responsibilities will extend to Strategy & Execution, where you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of sponsored creator campaigns on emerging platforms. From initial concept development through to ongoing optimization, you will ensure that the creator portfolio consistently meets and exceeds performance objectives with minimal direct supervision. A significant part of this will involve developing robust platform entry strategies and adapting them dynamically as the business landscape changes. The platforms prioritized may evolve, requiring you to be agile and responsive. You will also be responsible for leading and closing high-value creator deals, directly contributing to revenue generation.
- • As a leader, you will engage in Team Development, guiding and mentoring a small team tasked with identifying and vetting creators, nurturing relationships, and executing campaigns across nascent platforms. You will establish clear performance goals, foster a culture of accountability, and proactively address and remove obstacles, embodying a spirit of ownership and diligent follow-through across all work streams. As the team expands its reach into new platforms and creator ecosystems, you will be responsible for building and refining operational processes to ensure scalability and efficiency.
- • Cross-Functional Collaboration will be a daily activity, requiring close partnership with the Discovery, Content, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment on shared objectives and to optimize the entire creator funnel. You will be responsible for developing and presenting comprehensive weekly and quarterly forecasting reports and performance updates to senior leadership, providing critical insights into campaign effectiveness and strategic direction.
- • In terms of Platform Development, you will proactively identify and cultivate relationships with leading creators across both established and emerging platforms, maintaining an open mind to the future evolution of the creator landscape. Staying ahead of platform trends, creator dynamics, and audience behavior will be essential for adapting strategies swiftly and capitalizing on early-mover advantages, ensuring Ground News remains at the forefront of creator partnerships.
- • A strong Analytical Acumen is paramount. You will be comfortable dissecting performance data to rigorously evaluate creator quality, distinguishing between superficial reach and genuine conversion. You will adeptly utilize key metrics such as Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and Cost Per Mille (CPM) to inform and drive data-driven decision-making. Furthermore, you will be skilled in constructing and utilizing cost projection models, whether CPM-based or otherwise, to accurately forecast campaign performance prior to budget allocation. Crucially, you will gather comprehensive business context before proposing solutions, diagnosing funnel inefficiencies before prescribing remedies when performance falters.

🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of experience in influencer marketing, in-house marketing, creator partnerships, or media buying, with a demonstrated history of building and managing creator relationships at scale.
- • Deep understanding of creator ecosystems across various platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Substack, and other emerging platforms, with the ability to critically evaluate creators and identify high-potential partnerships.
- • Strong commercial acumen, with a proficiency in metrics such as ROAS, CAC, and CPM, and a commitment to holding oneself and the team accountable to revenue targets.
- • Proven track record of successfully closing deals and achieving revenue goals.
- • Demonstrated experience in leading or coaching a small team, with the ability to set clear objectives and drive accountability without resorting to micromanagement.
- • A self-starter mentality, thriving in ambiguous and fast-paced environments where established playbooks may not yet exist.
