- • Lead fast-cycle research and development efforts across Crusoe’s Managed Platform Services (MAPS) domains using AI-augmented workflows to prototype the full solution space, not just recommended paths, compressing time from idea to working proof-of-concept.
- • Partner with engineering and product teams to evaluate the viability of new platform capabilities, identifying overlaps or extensions between net-new products and existing services to reduce duplication and accelerate time-to-value.
- • Operate as an embedded R&D resource across all MAPS teams without formal product ownership, providing senior technical guidance on architecture, implementation approaches, and build-vs-extend tradeoffs.
- • Own the early, ambiguous stages of product and feature work by defining scope, surfacing technical risks, and producing concrete artifacts such as prototypes, technical specifications, and feasibility assessments to enable downstream teams to work more efficiently.
- • Continuously identify common patterns across MAPS domains and surface opportunities to consolidate, reuse, or generalize platform capabilities to maintain coherence as the platform portfolio scales.
- • Rapidly build high-fidelity prototypes across diverse technologies, comfortable moving quickly, exploring multiple approaches in parallel, and recognizing when "good enough" is the optimal path forward.
- • Leverage AI tools to accelerate software development, research, and technical decision-making, pushing their limits beyond basic usage to enhance productivity and innovation.
- • Apply strong understanding of managed cloud services, distributed systems, and platform engineering patterns to assess how new ideas align with or diverge from existing infrastructure.
- • Engage early in ambiguous product spaces, asking the right questions to translate fuzzy requirements into scoped, buildable increments with clear technical direction.
- • Communicate complex technical tradeoffs clearly and persuasively to both engineering and product audiences, presenting findings, recommendations, and prototypes to senior stakeholders.
- • Influence cross-functionally without formal authority by earning trust through technical credibility, clear thinking, and consistent delivery of high-quality artifacts and prototypes.
- • Bring 10+ years of software development experience, including significant time in senior individual contributor or staff-level roles, with hands-on expertise in modern compiled or systems languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
- • Work within Crusoe’s vertically integrated AI infrastructure ecosystem, contributing to a platform that spans from energy sourcing to AI compute delivery, supporting the world’s most ambitious AI workloads.
- • Contribute to a high-performing team that operates with urgency, thrives in uncharted territory, and believes in scaling ambition through collaboration across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of software development experience, including significant time in senior individual contributor or staff-level roles
- • Proven ability to rapidly build high-fidelity prototypes across diverse technologies using AI-augmented workflows
- • Strong understanding of managed cloud services, distributed systems, and platform engineering patterns
- • Experience with modern compiled or systems languages (Go, Rust, Java, C++)
- • Demonstrated ability to operate without formal authority and influence cross-functionally through technical credibility
