📋 Description

• Design and build scalable, reliable platform features for private cloud infrastructure, co-architecting solutions across ProxMox, Kubernetes, and bare-metal environments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform and Ansible to improve efficiency and reduce manual overhead for databases, web servers, and message queues.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable continuous integration and delivery across staging and production environments.
• Implement and manage observability systems using Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, and OpenTelemetry to monitor system health, detect anomalies, and ensure high availability.
• Enforce security best practices and compliance standards across all infrastructure layers, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Advocate for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and GitOps methodologies, integrating ArgoCD for declarative, version-controlled infrastructure deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align systems engineering strategy with business goals and product roadmap priorities.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, incident retrospectives, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Operate and optimize Linux-based systems (Debian, Alpine) in hybrid and bare-metal environments, managing containerized workloads and hypervisor-level configurations.
• Maintain middleware components including nginx, OpenSearch, RabbitMQ, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis/Keydb to ensure stable, high-performance service delivery.
• Contribute to the long-term platform roadmap by identifying scalability bottlenecks, proposing automation improvements, and driving infrastructure modernization initiatives.
• Support global infrastructure deployments across i3D.net’s own data centers, ensuring low latency, zero packet loss, and seamless performance for real-time workloads.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response to resolve critical system issues with minimal downtime and maximum reliability.
• Document system architectures, operational procedures, and automation workflows to ensure knowledge retention and team-wide accessibility.
• Work in a hybrid model, splitting time between onsite collaboration at the Rotterdam headquarters and remote work, with support provided for relocation within the EU.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong Linux expertise with hands-on experience managing Debian and Alpine systems in bare-metal or hybrid environments
• At least 4 years of systems engineering experience with highly available, distributed, high-traffic systems such as game servers, media platforms, or global APIs
• Proven experience deploying and operating private cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack) with responsibility for production stability and lifecycle management
• Proven use of Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure-as-code at scale
• Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions with GitOps tooling such as Argo CD
• Hands-on experience with Prometheus and Grafana in production, preferably in multi-tenant or regulated contexts
