- • Own full-cycle hiring for Engineering and Product roles, managing all stages from initial sourcing to offer negotiation and closure
- • Partner directly with engineering and product leadership to define high-conviction hiring criteria and evaluate candidates against rigorous technical and product-thinking standards
- • Design and execute creative, non-standard sourcing campaigns to identify passive candidates in AI, machine learning, data engineering, and product domains, going beyond conventional platforms
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing market intelligence, aligning stakeholders on candidate progress, and ensuring transparency throughout the recruitment process
- • Champion a high bar for talent density by pushing back on mediocre hires and advocating for quality over speed in every search
- • Utilize Ashby ATS with a strong focus on data integrity, analytics, and reporting to drive recruiting decisions and improve hiring outcomes
- • Act as a strategic talent partner by influencing hiring priorities, forecasting talent needs, and shaping team composition to support rapid company scaling
- • Build and maintain deep relationships with engineering and product talent networks, particularly in AI-focused startup ecosystems
- • Conduct in-depth evaluations of candidates across backend, frontend, full-stack, ML/AI, and DevOps engineering disciplines, assessing both technical depth and problem-solving ability
- • Evaluate product candidates using clear frameworks for product thinking, user-centric design, and strategic execution
- • Actively leverage AI tools in your recruiting workflow to enhance efficiency and decision-making, with strong opinions on their effective application
- • Contribute to building Counsel’s Boston office culture from the ground up, working primarily from a hybrid office location in Boston
- • Help define what a highly AI-enabled talent team looks like by innovating on process, technology, and candidate experience
- • Maintain alignment with Counsel’s core values, especially patient safety, simplicity, and doing fewer things well, when evaluating cultural fit
- • Ensure every hire supports the mission of building an AI-native medical group that multiplies healthcare capacity
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with majority focused on technical roles
- • Deep fluency in engineering skill sets: backend, frontend, full-stack, ML/AI, data engineering, and DevOps
- • Proven experience recruiting Product roles with clear ability to assess strong product thinking
- • Strong command of Ashby ATS with emphasis on data integrity and analytics
- • Track record of closing senior and niche technical roles through outbound sourcing, not just inbound
- • Based in the Boston area and genuinely excited to work from an office as the Boston presence is built
