đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as the go-to technical specialist for a portfolio of fast-growing clients, translating complex state and local sales-and-use-tax statutes into clear, actionable strategies that protect cash flow and reduce audit risk.
- • Own the end-to-end compliance cycle: prepare detailed workpapers, validate data integrity across ERP and third-party systems, and file multi-jurisdiction returns accurately and on time—often handling 30–50 filings per month during peak periods.
- • Lead or support nexus studies and reverse audits that identify overpayments, under-collections, and refund opportunities; present findings to CFOs, controllers, and tax directors in concise executive summaries that drive immediate decisions.
- • Respond to state and local tax notices, manage information requests, and negotiate assessments—turning potential liabilities into manageable resolutions and strengthening client relationships.
- • Design and implement sustainable, recurring compliance processes that leverage automation tools and system integrations, reducing manual effort for both clients and junior staff.
- • Mentor and train associates and interns on sales-tax fundamentals, firm methodology, and software platforms, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—audit, income tax, technology, and advisory—to deliver holistic solutions that align indirect-tax strategy with broader business objectives.
- • Stay ahead of legislative changes, court rulings, and administrative guidance; distill updates into client alerts, internal lunch-and-learns, and thought-leadership articles that position Aprio as a market leader.
- • Contribute to business-development initiatives by identifying upsell opportunities, preparing proposals, and occasionally attending industry conferences to expand the firm’s footprint in high-growth sectors such as SaaS, e-commerce, and fintech.
- • Work in a hybrid environment—three days remote, two days in one of 15 U.S. hub offices—balancing focused deep-work time with in-person collaboration that strengthens team cohesion and client rapport.
- • Embrace the Aprio Way: thirty-one behaviors that celebrate curiosity, ownership, and innovation, ensuring every project delivers measurable value and an exceptional client experience.
