📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end delivery of trap fabrication projects that sit at the heart of Quantinuum’s world-leading quantum computers. You will be the single point of accountability for schedule, budget, risk, and technical performance, translating cutting-edge R&D into on-time hardware that powers the highest-performance quantum systems on the planet.
• • Act as the primary interface between Quantinuum and a global network of wafer-fabrication suppliers, MEMS foundries, and precision-component vendors. You will negotiate statements of work, manage purchase orders, and drive suppliers to hit aggressive milestones while maintaining the exacting tolerances required for quantum-grade ion traps.
• • Build and maintain integrated master schedules that synchronize materials science, mechanical design, electrical test, and firmware teams across the US, UK, and Japan. Your Gantt charts and risk registers will be the living documents that keep 20+ parallel workstreams aligned and transparent to senior leadership.
• • Chair weekly cross-functional stand-ups and monthly executive reviews, translating complex technical blockers into concise, decision-ready briefings. When a lithography mask set slips or a cryogenic test chamber goes down, you will already have mitigation options on the table and the right stakeholders engaged.
• • Manage multi-million-dollar budgets and cash-flow forecasts in partnership with global finance. You will track earned value, authorize invoicing milestones, and ensure that every dollar spent accelerates the critical path toward trapped-ion processors with higher qubit counts and lower error rates.
• • Drive continuous improvement of program-management processes. You will codify lessons learned from each build cycle into playbooks, templates, and dashboards that scale as Quantinuum doubles its hardware output year over year.
• • Collaborate with product management to translate customer roadmaps into technical requirements, ensuring that the next generation of quantum computers meets both scientific and commercial milestones.
• • Uphold security and export-control protocols while coordinating with U.S. Government sponsors. Your documentation and communication practices will safeguard sensitive technologies without slowing innovation.
• • Mentor junior project engineers and share best practices across the global program-management community, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and scientific rigor.
• • Champion diversity and inclusion within project teams, ensuring that the best ideas—regardless of their source—are surfaced, tested, and implemented to push the boundaries of quantum computing.
