Our platform is the most configurable solution for deploying sophisticated voice agents, empowering businesses to connect with their customers in more natural and intuitive ways. As we continue this trajectory, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Technical Recruiter to spearhead our talent acquisition efforts, particularly within our burgeoning Engineering and Product teams.
  • • This pivotal role is designed to execute and refine Vapi's recruiting strategy, enabling us to scale our team from our current 50 employees to over 100 and beyond. You will be instrumental in shaping our organizational structure, prioritizing headcount needs, and architecting a robust hiring strategy that aligns with our ambitious growth objectives. This is not merely a role focused on transactional requisition management; it is a hands-on leadership position that demands strategic thinking, deep market insight, and a proactive approach to building a world-class team.
  • • In your first 30 days, you will immerse yourself in Vapi's unique culture and technical landscape. You will assume immediate ownership of active Engineering and Product searches, gaining a comprehensive understanding of our specific roles, the intricacies of our interview loops, and the high talent bar we uphold. A key focus will be establishing strong, collaborative working relationships with our executive leadership, including the CEO, CTO, VP of Engineering, and Head of Talent & People. You will conduct a thorough assessment of our current pipeline health, evaluate the effectiveness of our existing sourcing strategies, and analyze interview pass-through rates to identify immediate areas for improvement.
  • • By the 60-day mark, you will be independently managing the full-cycle recruiting process for our most critical Engineering and Product positions. This involves proactively building a high-quality, top-of-funnel pipeline through a multi-faceted approach, including targeted sourcing, compelling outbound campaigns, leveraging our employee referral program, and engaging in strategic networking within the tech community. You will partner closely with hiring managers to meticulously refine role definitions, optimize interview loops for efficiency and effectiveness, and develop clear, objective scorecards for candidate assessment. Furthermore, you will begin to influence our closing strategies and champion initiatives to enhance the overall candidate experience, ensuring Vapi is perceived as an employer of choice.
  • • Upon reaching your 90-day milestone, you will consistently demonstrate the ability to attract and close top-tier engineering and product talent at a rapid pace. You will leverage data from our Ashby recruiting platform to drive funnel optimization, identifying bottlenecks and recommending data-backed improvements to accelerate hiring speed and elevate candidate quality. You will serve as a trusted thought partner to leadership on strategic headcount planning and forecasting future hiring needs, ensuring our talent acquisition efforts are always ahead of the curve. In addition, you will act as a Vapi brand ambassador, representing our company externally at technical conferences, developer meetups, and within online communities, further strengthening our employer brand within the technical landscape.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 4 years of technical recruiting experience within fast-paced, high-growth technology companies. A proven track record of successfully hiring high-impact engineering talent is essential. You should possess deep expertise in sourcing and market research, with a demonstrated ability to map talent landscapes and identify exceptional, often passive, candidates. Comfort and proficiency in owning the closing strategy, including articulating competitive compensation and equity packages, and crafting compelling, mission-driven narratives are crucial. Experience in building or refining structured interview processes and leveraging analytics to inform hiring decisions is highly valued. We are looking for individuals with a strong sense of ownership, a bias for action, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments. Excellent communication and influencing skills are paramount, enabling you to effectively engage with founders, executives, and hiring managers alike.
