📋 Description

• Senior Trading Technology Engineer (Low-Latency) role focused on designing, developing, and delivering high-performance trading system components for BitMEX, a leading global crypto derivatives exchange known for innovation and security.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include owning the design and delivery of trading system components, implementing new features, fixing bugs, tuning performance, collaborating with financial product teams and quantitative researchers, and mentoring team members while driving firm-wide initiatives.
• Part of a lean, high-impact engineering team building the core of the BitMEX platform, which handles order matching, risk management, market data distribution, and settlement for millions of transactions per second.
• Opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronic trading systems, contribute to next-generation products, and deepen expertise in low-latency systems, Java performance tuning, and financial technology within a globally distributed, innovative crypto exchange.

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of programming experience writing high-performance Java applications
• Experience developing low latency trading systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar STEM discipline
• Experience in a related industry such as hedge funds, investment banks, or exchanges developing financial trading applications
• Understanding of modern software development fundamentals including TDD and BDD
• Strong grasp of design patterns, object-oriented programming (SOLID), algorithms, and their complexities
• Understanding of the Java Memory Model and concurrency in practice
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to break down complex problems into simpler abstractions
• Genuine passion for software development and commitment to quality and continuous learning
