- ⢠The Senior Underwriting Consultant underwrites and oversees the selection of risk for complex life applications, playing a critical role in managing underwriting services to support financial objectives such as profitability, production, and persistency of clients.
- ⢠Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting and classifying risks according to company standards, analyzing medical, non-medical, and financial information, making underwriting decisions within approval limits up to $10,000,000, determining appropriate requirements, and collaborating with field and home office teams to ensure high-quality service levels.
- ⢠The role involves managing retention, reviewing and co-signing referrals from other underwriters, participating in projects, assisting in developing underwriting initiatives, identifying solutions to work-related problems, and serving as an information resource for training and mentoring less experienced underwriters.

đŻ Requirements
- ⢠Minimum 6â8 years of underwriting experience in life insurance
- ⢠College degree required; FLMI, ALU, and ACS designations or current coursework toward earning these certificates required
- ⢠Highly developed knowledge of underwriting function, medical science and terminology, financial and non-medical underwriting factors, and insurance contract law
