Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own and evolve the FBI’s Criminal Discovery Program by serving as the Senior Veritas eDiscovery Platform (eDP) Engineer. You will architect, secure, and optimize a mission-critical environment that spans on-premises physical servers, virtualized Windows infrastructure, and emerging cloud platforms, ensuring that investigators and attorneys can locate, preserve, and produce evidence without delay.
- • Provide end-to-life engineering for the Veritas eDP stack—installation, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and decommissioning—while maintaining strict chain-of-custody and evidence-handling standards required for Top Secret-level litigation support.
- • Serve as the primary escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 incidents, triaging alerts from enterprise monitoring tools, coordinating with vendors, field sites, and the OGC to restore service within aggressive SLAs, and authoring post-mortems that drive continuous improvement.
- • Automate repetitive operational tasks by designing, testing, and maintaining PowerShell and VBScript routines that streamline storage provisioning, user provisioning, legal hold workflows, and daily health checks, reducing manual effort by up to 60 %.
- • Lead technical meetings and teleconferences with FBI stakeholders, translating complex engineering concepts into plain language for attorneys, paralegals, and agents, while capturing requirements that shape future platform enhancements.
- • Manage the full change-control lifecycle—submitting RFCs, presenting impact analyses to the Change Control Board, scheduling maintenance windows, and executing zero-downtime deployments that safeguard evidentiary integrity.
- • Oversee data migrations, expansions, and retirements across SAN, NAS, and cloud object storage, ensuring encryption in transit and at rest, and validating hash-verified transfers to prevent spoliation.
- • Monitor system and application logs daily, verifying successful completion of backups, index rebuilds, and collection jobs; proactively remediate warnings before they become outages.
- • Research and pilot innovative technologies—such as cloud-native eDiscovery services, AI-driven analytics, and advanced deduplication—to keep the Bureau at the forefront of digital forensics capabilities.
- • Prepare detailed technical assessments and ROM estimates for new initiatives, breaking work into sprints, identifying dependencies, and aligning resources to deliver on time and under budget.
- • Mentor junior administrators and cross-train security and network teams on eDiscovery workflows, building a resilient knowledge base that reduces single points of failure.
- • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and compliance with federal security policies, CJIS, and NIST frameworks, ensuring every configuration, credential, and audit trail meets or exceeds regulatory mandates.
🎯 Requirements
- • Active Top Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access.
- • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with Veritas eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell) or equivalent enterprise eDiscovery/ECA tools in a Windows Server environment.
- • Demonstrated expertise in Windows Server 2016/2019, VMware vSphere, PowerShell scripting, and storage technologies (SAN/NAS/object).
- • Experience migrating legacy eDiscovery workloads to AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud architectures.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100 % employer-paid premiums for employees.
- • 401(k) with 6 % company match and immediate vesting.
- • 20 days PTO plus all federal holidays and a floating personal day.
- • Annual professional development stipend of $5,000 for certifications, conferences, or advanced training.
