  • • As the Social Marketing Manager for YouTube Creators in India, you will be instrumental in shaping and amplifying the social presence of one of the world's most influential platforms within a vibrant and rapidly expanding region. This pivotal role involves advocating for and addressing the needs of YouTube Creators, a critical target audience that forms the backbone of the platform and fosters its daily engagement with viewers. Your deep understanding of what motivates YouTube creators—their challenges, aspirations, and desires—will be key to connecting their needs with the platform's innovative features and capabilities. You will act as a dedicated champion for creators, ensuring your strategies are always grounded in enhancing their skills, addressing their core interests, and delivering experiences that delight them. Social media will be your primary tool for deepening our connection with this vital community, leveraging data-driven insights to achieve measurable marketing and business outcomes.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass leading the strategic direction and operational execution of the @YouTube Creators India presence on Instagram, working collaboratively with agency partners to ensure a dynamic and engaging daily feed. You will be tasked with elevating our always-on content and community management efforts, aligning them with overarching team missions, strategic objectives, and Key Performance Indicators (OKRs). A significant part of your role will involve partnering with marketing colleagues and leadership, both locally and across different regions, to develop impactful programs, campaigns, and go-to-market (GTM) plans that align with business objectives and campaign goals. You will also be responsible for engaging and directing social media, influencer, and content agencies to craft compelling campaigns for key YouTube products and initiatives, specifically targeting casual and dedicated creators, with a strategic focus on maximizing creativity and innovation.
  • • Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Partner Insights & Analytics team and external analytics agencies to meticulously track and report on the social impact on YouTube's business goals. This includes monitoring social performance indicators to gauge the health of the YouTube creator brand within India, providing comprehensive campaign performance reports with actionable learnings, and identifying insights from social media activity that can inform broader YouTube marketing strategies. A crucial aspect of the role involves working as part of a Global Rapid Response Team, in close coordination with global and regional social, PR, legal, and policy teams. This collaboration is essential for establishing robust, round-the-clock social listening and monitoring workflows, as well as implementing proactive and reactive escalation processes to manage user sentiment across all social platforms effectively. You will also provide operational support to ensure compliance with Statements of Work (SOWs), Purchase Orders (POs), and invoices related to external agency partners.
  • • This role is inherently cross-functional and international, requiring you to collaborate seamlessly with local, regional (APAC), and global YouTube Product Marketing Managers, as well as various local cross-functional teams, including partnerships, legal, communications, and policy. You will be responsible for delivering frequent and clear analyses to management, fostering a strong grassroots understanding within the organization of what matters most to our creators. As a key member of the YouTube APAC Social Marketing Team, you will work in close partnership with the YouTube India social media lead, contributing to the overall success of creator engagement strategies. You will be expected to demonstrate a strong record of creativity and data-driven optimization, ideally within social media marketing, and possess a keen understanding of social media best practices and successful campaigns within the Indian market, identifying leading social brands and agencies. Your ability to understand the nuances of the Indian creator ecosystem across various platforms, with bonus points for knowledge of APAC and global creator ecosystems, will be invaluable. You will also need a solid grasp of content production and the leading agencies in the market for each aspect of it. Experience in social analytics and proficiency with social media monitoring and listening tools are essential, as you will be responsible for building and maintaining processes to proactively and reactively manage audience sentiment across social platforms. You must possess the ability to operate independently, demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, and formulate your own well-reasoned points of view and recommendations. Navigating ambiguity and thriving in a very fast-paced environment are critical skills for success in this role. You will also be expected to have outstanding written and oral communication skills. While not strictly required, experience working with statistical analysis and data mining software is a plus. A genuine passion for and curiosity about AI and new technologies is highly encouraged, with a critical ability to learn and articulate the benefits and features of AI tools being paramount, even if direct experience is not yet established.
