- • As a Software Analyst II at Nelnet Business Services (NBS), you will play a critical role in bridging business needs with technical solutions by designing software that supports education and faith-based organizations serving over 1.3 million students and institutions globally. Your work directly enables Nelnet’s mission to create opportunities for people where they live, learn, and work by ensuring technology aligns with user needs and business objectives.
- • You will collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and software engineers to elicit, analyze, and translate functional requirements into clear, actionable specifications, ensuring development teams fully understand the problems they are solving and the value they are delivering.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading requirements elicitation and analysis, developing solution designs, participating in design and team reviews, resolving impediments, monitoring DevOps processes and metrics, testing software to verify requirements, providing post-implementation support, assisting with user training, and recommending improvements to software, procedures, and technical resolutions.
- • You will partner with the Product Owner to ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution, lead cross-team collaborations, identify risks and gaps in designs or implementations, and drive continuous improvement through data-informed insights and process optimization.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience
- • 3+ years of experience with NBS products or in a similar software analysis role at another company
- • Experience designing, developing, implementing, testing, and managing technology solutions
- • Proficiency with SQL
- • Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- • Ability to think conceptually, adapt to change, and collaborate respectfully in dynamic environments
