đź“‹ Description

  • • Valinor Capital Management LP is at the forefront of a new era in defense and government technology, dedicated to tackling complex challenges that others shy away from. Our innovative operational model, characterized by centralized go-to-market strategies and decentralized engineering excellence, empowers us to identify critical unmet needs with unparalleled speed, develop precisely tailored solutions, and ensure these vital products reach the users who depend on them most. Unlike organizations that gravitate towards high-profile issues, Valinor focuses on the often-overlooked, yet profoundly significant, problems that, if left unaddressed, can weaken the nation's strength, stability, and security.
  • • Founded in 2024 and fortified by the backing of esteemed investors such as General Catalyst, Founders Fund, and Friends & Family Capital, Valinor has rapidly forged strategic alliances with industry leaders like Palantir, Anduril, and Helsing. We are assembling a team of exceptional talent, and we are actively seeking a Software Engineer to join our mission.
  • • **About the Role:** The Valinor Dispatch team is pioneering the development of ruggedized, field-deployable Unmanned Systems (UxS) charging infrastructure specifically designed for demanding defense applications. We are searching for a highly motivated Software Engineer to take the lead in architecting and implementing the software for our next-generation autonomous systems support platforms. These platforms are engineered for deployment in the most austere and challenging environments, requiring robust and reliable software solutions.
  • • **What You'll Do:**
  • • Architect, design, and implement comprehensive full-stack software solutions for command-and-control (C2) applications. This includes developing intuitive web-based operator interfaces, robust backend services, and efficient data integration layers that are critical for mission success.
  • • Develop highly responsive and dynamic front-end interfaces that provide real-time situational awareness, facilitate mission planning, and enable effective asset management. You will leverage modern front-end frameworks to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.
  • • Build scalable and resilient backend services, APIs, and data pipelines. These will be responsible for ingesting critical telemetry data, supporting complex mission-critical workflows, and enabling seamless operations across multiple domains.
  • • Integrate the developed C2 software with existing tactical systems and platforms. This involves ensuring interoperability with systems such as Lattice, ATAK, and adhering to coalition and joint interoperability standards, including Cursor on Target (CoT) and other TAK protocols.
  • • Collaborate closely with our autonomy, robotics, and systems engineering teams. Your work will be instrumental in surfacing vital vehicle and asset status information, sensor feeds, and control interfaces within unified operator dashboards, providing a holistic view of operations.
  • • Play a key role in verification, validation, and testing activities. This includes developing and utilizing simulation environments, conducting rigorous integration testing, and supporting operational exercises to ensure software reliability and performance.
  • • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. This encompasses interface control documents (ICDs), detailed API specifications, and clear architecture descriptions, all produced in strict compliance with federal defense standards and requirements.
  • • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development lifecycle, including exploring and implementing best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.
  • • Engage in problem-solving for complex technical challenges related to distributed systems, real-time data processing, and secure communication in potentially disconnected or resource-constrained environments.
  • • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to defense software, autonomous systems, and command and control, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our platforms.
