- • Software Engineer on Redis’s AI and Search Team, contributing to core vector and information-retrieval components that power semantic, vector, and hybrid search for millions of developers worldwide.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and optimizing HNSW, quantization, filtering, and re-ranking algorithms; improving latency and throughput in performance-critical paths; participating in design discussions and code reviews; collaborating with Redis Core, Cloud, and Support teams; and applying systems-level optimizations such as memory layout, concurrency, and SIMD under mentorship.
- • You’ll join a team of experienced engineers building the foundational search and vector capabilities that enable AI-driven applications, working on real production systems at scale with a focus on correctness, reliability, and maintainability.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in high-performance systems programming, search algorithms, and AI-adjacent technologies while contributing to open-source-friendly projects and growing as a systems engineer in a globally distributed, innovative environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • Solid production experience (typically 3–5+ years) building backend, systems, or infrastructure software
- • Background in search / IR / vector systems or systems programming (storage, performance-critical services)
- • Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust, with experience writing concurrent and performant code
