  • • Build the engine that powers smarter pay decisions for Fortune 100 giants. As a Software Engineer at Compa you will design, ship, and scale the real-time compensation data platform trusted by Apple, NVIDIA, Tesla, Mastercard, T-Mobile, Sanofi, Moderna, and Gilead Sciences. Every line of code you write directly influences how the world’s biggest companies attract, retain, and reward talent.
  • • Own end-to-end product features from whiteboard sketch to production release. You will collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Managers and Designers to translate complex compensation problems into elegant, intuitive workflows that delight enterprise users. Whether you’re refining a data-ingestion pipeline or polishing a React component, your work will be live in front of thousands of compensation professionals within days—not months.
  • • Architect resilient, secure, and lightning-fast systems that process millions of compensation records daily. You will extend our Django/Python backend, optimize GraphQL APIs, and leverage AWS services to ensure 99.9 % uptime for customers who rely on Compa for mission-critical pay decisions during tight hiring windows.
  • • Champion code quality and engineering best practices across the team. Through thoughtful pull-request reviews, pair programming, and architecture discussions, you will help establish patterns that let us move quickly without breaking things. Your pragmatic approach to trade-offs will shape how we balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • • Deep-dive into data pipelines that turn messy, disparate pay spreadsheets into normalized, queryable intelligence. You will improve our ETL workflows, integrate new data sources, and surface actionable insights via Metabase dashboards that compensation analysts use to benchmark offers in real time.
  • • Experiment with cutting-edge AI infrastructure to augment human decision-making. Using vLLM and other emerging tools, you will prototype features that generate natural-language compensation insights, detect market anomalies, and recommend equitable pay bands—pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in HR tech.
  • • Iterate rapidly in a remote-first but office-friendly culture. While we have hubs in Irvine, Denver, and Boston, you can work from anywhere and sync through Slack, Linear, and Notion. Daily stand-ups are short; deep-work blocks are sacred. You’ll have the autonomy to choose when and how you do your best engineering.
  • • Mentor and be mentored. Whether you’re two years or ten years into your career, you’ll find teammates eager to share knowledge—from advanced TypeScript patterns to AWS cost-optimization hacks.
