Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Be the technical backbone of Availity’s Shield Team, a high-impact squad that protects and elevates the Essentials Pro Revenue Cycle Management platform used by over 2 million providers and processing 13 billion transactions a year. Your code will directly reduce friction for clinicians, accelerate reimbursements, and keep the nation’s premier healthcare ecosystem humming.
- • Own the full-stack lifecycle for critical enhancements and defect remediation across the provider product portfolio. You will design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing systems in .NET 8, C#, ASP.NET MVC, React, and SQL while leveraging AWS native services (EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, AmazonMQ, MySQL) to deliver secure, scalable, and cloud-native solutions.
- • Champion continuous improvement by refactoring legacy code, paying down technical debt, and injecting modern patterns such as microservices, serverless functions, and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift). Every line you touch will raise the bar for performance, maintainability, and regulatory compliance (PCI, PII, GDPR).
- • Translate complex business requirements into elegant technical designs. You will size and estimate development efforts, define build plans, and ensure commitments ship on time with comprehensive unit tests that meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- • Serve as the go-to subject-matter expert for provider-centric revenue cycle workflows and ANSI X12 EDI transactions. Your deep domain knowledge will guide product owners, QA engineers, and support teams toward faster resolution and smarter feature roadmaps.
- • Collaborate in an agile, camera-first, remote environment where pair programming, daily stand-ups, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) are the norm. You will leverage Git, Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform to automate pipelines and push value to production multiple times per week.
- • Provide tier-3 support for escalated tickets, diving into distributed logs, tracing requests across microservices, and debugging complex code paths under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism in an interrupt-driven setting.
- • Drive cloud adoption strategy by evaluating emerging AWS services, running proof-of-concepts, and recommending adoption timelines that balance innovation with stability.
- • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, lunch-and-learn sessions, and architecture walkthroughs, cultivating a culture of learning that earned Availity recognition as a “Best Workplace for Technology Companies” and “Best Workplace for Millennials.”
- • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives—whether optimizing database query performance, hardening security postures, or automating infrastructure—that keep Availity at the forefront of healthcare technology and ensure patients receive the care they deserve.
