📋 Description

• • As a Software Engineer in Kernel Performance & AI Tooling at OpenAI, you will help advance kernel development, performance engineering, and hardware-software co-design with a focus on AI-assisted workflows and tooling.
• • You will build developer tooling and workflows that make kernel development and performance optimization faster, more scalable, and easier to debug, integrate, and deploy; develop observability, diagnostics, and validation infrastructure; optimize production kernels end to end; design abstractions and automation systems; improve AI-assisted optimization systems; and partner across research and engineering teams.
• • You will work within OpenAI’s Hardware organization, which develops silicon and system-level solutions for advanced AI workloads, builds next-generation AI-native silicon, and creates custom design tools to accelerate innovation.
• • You will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of kernel optimization, developer tooling, observability, and research infrastructure, helping improve how production kernels are built and optimized and how future hardware-software systems are designed and evaluated, while seeing AI and automation as tools to accelerate engineering velocity.
