📋 Description

• • Own the full lifecycle of high-impact features for Vivid Seats’ Core Java platform, from whiteboard to production, directly influencing how millions of fans discover and purchase tickets to their favorite live events.
• • Architect, build, and maintain scalable micro-services that power ticket inventory, pricing, search, and checkout flows, ensuring 99.9 % uptime during peak on-sales and marquee events.
• • Collaborate daily with Product, UX, Data, and DevOps in a true cross-functional squad; your code will be reviewed by senior engineers and you’ll mentor junior teammates, raising the technical bar across the organization.
• • Tackle gnarly distributed-systems challenges—think idempotent payments, real-time seat-map rendering, and sub-second search across millions of listings—while keeping latency, cost, and customer trust top-of-mind.
• • Instrument everything: write clean, testable Java (Spring Boot) and Kotlin, add metrics and tracing via Datadog, and own your services in production with on-call rotations that respect your evenings and weekends.
• • Drive continuous delivery through GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Kubernetes; ship to production multiple times per day with confidence, backed by automated unit, integration, and canary tests.
• • Level-up our engineering culture by leading guilds on topics like reactive programming, event sourcing, or performance tuning, and by contributing to internal libraries that every squad re-uses.
• • Within your first 30 days you’ll ship your first pull request, pair with teammates to understand our domain model, and complete a mini-project that surfaces in the release notes.
• • By 90 days you’ll own a medium-complexity epic—perhaps a new loyalty-discount engine—end-to-end, presenting metrics that prove customer value and engineering excellence.
• • At 180 days you’ll be the go-to expert for at least one critical service, influencing quarterly OKRs, interviewing future teammates, and shaping our technical roadmap.
• • Work from anywhere in the U.S. while staying deeply connected: we gather in our brand-new Las Vegas HQ three days a week for white-boarding, team lunches, and the electric buzz of live-event fandom that permeates our culture.
