- • As a Software Engineer, Video at Whatnot, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of live commerce by enhancing the platform’s video infrastructure and seller tools to drive engagement and sales.
- • Day to day, you will implement robust measurement and observability systems, build video recording pipelines for trust and safety and user experience, and develop initial seller tools like interactive overlays to enrich livestream interactions.
- • You will join a remote co-located engineering team spread across global hubs in the US, UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, and Australia, working in a fast-paced, impact-driven culture that values user focus and technical excellence.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead innovation in video technology, define long-term video strategy, evaluate new video providers, and grow as a technical leader in a high-growth startup shaping a new industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of software engineering experience
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- • Experience with scaled WebRTC systems
- • AWS/DevOps experience
- • Excellent ability to translate product requirements into scalable, user-focused systems
- • Proven track record of high-quality engineering design and independent problem-solving
