  • • As a Solutions Engineer for Digital Natives at OpenAI, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to high-growth, innovative companies, helping them unlock transformative business value through the strategic deployment of ChatGPT and OpenAI API solutions. Your role is critical in bridging cutting-edge AI technology with real-world enterprise needs, ensuring customers not only understand but can successfully implement AI-driven use cases that enhance productivity, innovation, and competitive advantage.
  • • You will partner closely with senior business and technical stakeholders to assess pre-sales needs, co-develop AI strategies, and identify high-impact use cases such as automated customer service, intelligent content generation, and workflow automation. Through tailored demonstrations, architectural guidance, and deep technical advisory, you will enable customers to move swiftly from concept to implementation, accelerating their AI adoption journey while maintaining alignment with security, compliance, and scalability best practices.
  • • You will be embedded within OpenAI’s Technical Success team in Munich, collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, Security, and Product teams to ensure a seamless customer journey from initial engagement through deployment. Operating in a hybrid model (3 days in-office per week), you’ll benefit from relocation support and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization at the forefront of responsible AI innovation.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include delivering exceptional pre-sales experiences by translating complex technical capabilities into clear business value, building and presenting compelling demos, scoping feasible use cases, and recommending robust architecture patterns. You will create and maintain living documentation, guides, and FAQs based on recurring customer inquiries, ensuring knowledge is shared efficiently across teams and customers.
  • • You will act as a vital voice of the customer internally, synthesizing feedback from engagements to identify trends and advocate for product improvements. Additionally, you’ll serve as the first point of contact for security and compliance inquiries, clarifying OpenAI’s trust portal resources, explaining standardized collateral, and escalating complex issues to specialized teams when needed.
  • • This role offers significant professional growth: you’ll deepen your expertise in generative AI applications, enterprise SaaS architecture, and cross-functional stakeholder management while working on some of the most advanced AI products in the world. You’ll sharpen your ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences — from developers to C-suite executives — and gain influence in shaping how AI is adopted across industries.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales or solutions engineering role, with proven success managing C-level technical and business relationships in complex global organizations.
  • • Full professional fluency in both German and English, enabling effective communication with local and international stakeholders.
  • • Demonstrated understanding of IT security principles and compliance requirements for B2B SaaS products, including experience supporting customers through security questionnaires, data protection frameworks, and trust center resources.
  • • Hands-on industry experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript, REST API integration, and cloud/network architecture concepts.
  • • Track record of delivering prototypes or proof-of-concepts using Generative AI or traditional machine learning solutions, with ability to translate technical feasibility into business value.
  • • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, capable of adapting technical content for audiences ranging from engineers to executive leadership.
  • • Proactive ownership mindset — comfortable tackling ambiguous problems, learning new domains quickly, and driving initiatives to completion.
  • • Humble, collaborative attitude with a strong desire to support teammates and contribute to team success over individual recognition.
