- • Manage and scale a team of 6–8 Solutions Engineers through hiring, mentoring, and developing processes that drive team performance and retention.
- • Drive revenue growth by improving win rates and customer expansion through high-impact, customized demonstrations and proof-of-concept (POC) builds that demonstrate clear ROI.
- • Deliver technically precise and relevant demos and POCs aligned with enterprise customer use cases, ensuring consistency and quality across all customer engagements.
- • Serve as the technical backbone for enterprise sales deals, enabling complex customer implementations by leveraging Clay’s platform, integrations, and AI capabilities.
- • Own and maintain Clay’s internal technical knowledge system, including 50+ golden demos, 500+ custom AI prompts, and 20+ best practice playbooks for GTM Engineering.
- • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Enablement teams to integrate solutions expertise into go-to-market strategies and product roadmaps.
- • Translate customer feedback and POC insights into actionable product recommendations that influence feature development and platform evolution.
- • Build scalable systems and documentation to standardize technical enablement across the GTM org, ensuring repeatability and efficiency in customer-facing technical work.
- • Evangelize GTM Engineering as a discipline internally and externally, positioning Clay as a leader in AI-driven, creative go-to-market execution.
- • Collaborate closely with GTM Engineers (GTMEs) to troubleshoot complex technical challenges, respond to enterprise client inquiries, and co-build innovative solutions that accelerate deal velocity.
- • Maintain deep technical fluency in SaaS integrations, SQL, and platform architecture, rapidly becoming an expert on Clay’s product to effectively support customer and internal needs.
- • Foster a culture of excellence, curiosity, and creativity within the Solutions Engineering team, aligning with Clay’s operating principles of negative maintenance and non-attached action.
- • Lead initiatives that enhance team productivity, reduce time-to-value for customers, and increase technical credibility during enterprise sales cycles.
- • Ensure the Solutions Engineering team’s work directly informs product feedback loops, contributing to Clay’s continuous innovation cycle.
- • Support the growth of Clay’s community and partner ecosystem by enabling agency partners and integration collaborators with technical resources and best practices.
- • Maintain a high bar for quality, attention to detail, and operational rigor in all team deliverables, from demos to documentation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years as a Solutions Engineer or Sales Engineer, OR at least 2 years in solution engineering combined with 4 years in a translatable hybrid customer-acquisition and technical role
- • 2+ years managing technical teams of Solutions Engineers with a proven track record of hiring and developing individual contributors to success
- • GTM fluency: Experience working in B2B SaaS environments and speaking the language of sales and marketing teams
- • Strong technical foundation in SaaS integrations, SQL, and platform architecture
- • Proven ability to build scalable teams using systems, processes, and playbooks that drive efficiency and consistency
- • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with demonstrated success partnering with Sales, Product, and Marketing
