Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full technical sales cycle for public safety agencies across a multi-state territory, serving as the primary technical authority who translates complex sUAS concepts into mission-ready solutions that save lives and protect communities.
- • Design and deliver immersive, scenario-based product demonstrations in the field—ranging from active shooter response to search-and-rescue operations—showcasing how Skydio’s autonomous drones integrate seamlessly with existing 911 CAD systems, video management platforms, and real-time crime centers.
- • Architect and pilot “Drone as First Responder” (DFR) programs from concept to deployment, including site surveys, regulatory filings, CONOPS documentation, and measurable KPI frameworks that prove ROI to city councils and police oversight boards.
- • Build and maintain Customer Success Plans that map agency objectives to Skydio capabilities, detailing phased rollouts, training schedules, data-handling protocols, and long-term fleet expansion strategies that turn a single-drone pilot into a scalable, department-wide program.
- • Capture granular voice-of-customer feedback during ride-alongs, command-post briefings, and after-action reviews; translate field insights into actionable product requirements that steer Skydio’s roadmap toward features like low-light tracking, encrypted live-streaming, and automated evidence export.
- • Provide white-glove technical support during early-access trials, including on-site troubleshooting, firmware updates, and integration testing with evidence-management systems such as Axon Evidence, Genetec Security Center, or Motorola PremierOne CAD.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, legal, and regulatory teams to ensure every deployment meets FAA Part 107, FCC, and CJIS security standards while pushing the envelope on BVLOS and night-time waivers.
- • Train and certify first responders—from patrol officers to SWAT commanders—through hands-on workshops, train-the-trainer sessions, and recurrent proficiency checks that embed Skydio workflows into daily SOPs.
- • Serve as the trusted advisor during procurement cycles, drafting technical responses to RFPs, creating budgetary justifications, and presenting to multi-stakeholder committees that include mayors, police chiefs, fire captains, and IT security officers.
- • Travel 50-75% across your region (and occasionally nationwide) to incident scenes, trade shows, and inter-agency task-force meetings, ensuring Skydio maintains a visible, responsive presence when and where public safety professionals need us most.
🎯 Requirements
- • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate in good standing with documented flight hours in complex airspace
- • 3+ years of direct public safety sUAS operational experience (police, fire, EMS, or SAR) with verifiable program deployments
- • Demonstrated knowledge of Drone as First Responder (DFR) concepts of operations and real-world implementation
- • Hands-on familiarity with public safety software ecosystems—CAD, VMS, evidence management—and basic understanding of RESTful API integrations
- • Ability to travel 50-75% and lift 60 lbs unaided for extended field demonstrations
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $120,000–$180,000 plus equity in the form of stock options
- • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
- • Remote-first culture with flexible scheduling and relocation assistance for eligible roles
- • Opportunity to shape the future of autonomous flight while directly impacting public safety outcomes across the nation
