As we continue to expand our research initiatives and explore new frontiers in AI, we are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Special Projects Associate to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution and successful launch of new research projects, particularly those focused on developing and refining AI benchmarks.
• In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive logistical and operational support to our world-class research teams. Your primary focus will be on facilitating the initiation and ongoing management of complex research projects, ensuring that all foundational elements are in place for success. A significant portion of your responsibilities, estimated at 50% or more of your time, will be dedicated to supporting the creation and implementation of new benchmarks. These benchmarks are vital for evaluating the performance, capabilities, and safety of AI models, and your contribution will directly impact the quality and reliability of our research findings.
• You will work closely with the benchmarking team, data scientists, and research leads to understand project requirements, anticipate needs, and proactively address potential challenges. This involves meticulous planning, coordination, and execution of various tasks that underpin the launch of new research endeavors. Your ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to evolving project scopes, and maintain a high level of accuracy will be key to your success.
• Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Assisting in the planning and logistical coordination for the development of new AI benchmarks, ensuring all necessary resources and timelines are aligned.
• Supporting the research teams in data collection, organization, and preparation for benchmark evaluations.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback for project development.
• Managing project documentation, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of milestones.
• Facilitating communication between different research groups and operational teams.
• Identifying and resolving logistical bottlenecks or operational issues that may impede project progress.
• Contributing to the development of operational processes and best practices for research project management.
• Assisting with the setup and configuration of necessary tools and platforms for research activities.
• Performing administrative tasks to support the smooth running of research projects, such as scheduling meetings and managing correspondence.
• Researching and compiling information relevant to new project initiatives or benchmark development.
• Helping to maintain and update project management systems and databases.
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures related to research operations.
• Providing ad-hoc support to the Head of Operations and research leads as needed.

• The position is fully remote, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from almost anywhere. However, we do have a strong preference for candidates who can ensure consistent schedule overlap for at least 7 work hours with UTC-4/5 (East Coast US time zones). This overlap is critical for effective collaboration and real-time communication with our North American-based teams. You will report directly to the Head of Operations, fostering a direct line of communication and support.
