  • • The Sr. Customer Support Specialist at OpenDeal Inc. serves as the primary escalation point for customer inquiries, ensuring timely and professional resolution of issues related to waste treatment and disposal services while mentoring junior staff and driving customer satisfaction.
  • • This role is critical to maintaining Republic Services’ reputation for excellence in environmental services, acting as a trusted liaison between customers, sales, operations, and support teams to uphold service quality and operational efficiency.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering outstanding service via phone, email, and in-person interactions; mentoring junior staff on complex issue resolution; establishing clear communication pathways for inquiries; collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve concerns swiftly; coordinating office services such as data entry, records control, and report preparation; assessing waste profiles for completeness and entering data into company systems; preparing accurate shipping manifests using DOT hazardous material regulations; serving as the point of contact for Sales, Operations, and Customer Support Management; investigating billing discrepancies, processing adjustments, and managing invoicing and collections; providing quotes, scheduling, and organizing trucking for waste transportation logistics; and evaluating pricing based on location, customer type, and regional market dynamics.
  • • The Customer Support team operates within Republic Services’ broader environmental services organization, which serves 13 million customers across North America through over 1,000 locations, combining local operational expertise with standardized practices to deliver consistent, high-quality service while empowering local decision-making.

  • • In this role, the individual will develop deep expertise in RCRA regulations, DOT transportation protocols, waste characterization, and pricing methodologies; gain proficiency in Microsoft Office, DocuSign, and PDF tools; strengthen analytical abilities to identify trends in billing and service data; enhance leadership skills through mentoring junior staff; and build cross-functional collaboration experience that supports career growth into senior support, operations, or customer experience leadership roles within a Fortune 500 environmental services leader.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 4-7 years of progressively responsible experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in waste disposal, chemistry, or a related environmental services field.
  • • Advanced knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) laws and regulations, including waste characterization principles, processing protocols, and DOT hazardous material transportation requirements.
  • • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, DocuSign, and PDF writer tools for documentation, reporting, and workflow management.
  • • Ability to identify trends and data patterns in billing, service, and operational data to support process improvements and accurate invoicing.
  • • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple assignments simultaneously under pressure.
  • • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear written and verbal expression, and the ability to interpret complex technical and regulatory documentation.
