Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • The Senior Director, Indirect Procurement at d-Matrix Corporation will own and scale the indirect and corporate procurement function, supporting the company’s mission to unleash the potential of generative AI through software and hardware innovation. This individual-contributor role is critical to enabling engineering and operations by securing essential IP, software, lab equipment, and corporate services.
  • • Day to day, the role involves negotiating and managing semiconductor IP core licenses (EDA tools, processor IP, embedded memory, security IP) with vendors like Synopsys, Cadence, Ansys, and Arm; sourcing and contracting engineering consulting firms; procuring lab hardware for AI inference development (servers, GPUs, FPGAs, test cards, rack infrastructure) and test/measurement equipment; managing corporate procurement for facilities, IT equipment, SaaS, insurance, and travel; leading RFQ/RFP processes; executing contracts via Zip and NetSuite; driving cost reduction; and collaborating with Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations to align procurement with project milestones.
  • • d-Matrix is a high-growth startup at the forefront of AI hardware and software innovation, focused on pushing the boundaries of generative AI technology. The company culture emphasizes respect, collaboration, humility, direct communication, and inclusivity, valuing diverse perspectives to drive better solutions and execution-driven problem solving.
  • • In this role, the individual will build scalable procurement infrastructure from the ground up, gain deep exposure to semiconductor IP licensing and AI hardware supply chains, develop expertise in cross-border contracting and export controls, and emerge as a trusted strategic partner influencing cost, risk, and innovation across the organization.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; MBA a plus. CPSM, CSCP, or CPIM valued.
  • • 7+ years of progressive procurement experience across at least two of: IP/software licensing, engineering services contracting, and hardware/capital equipment.
  • • Semiconductor, AI hardware, or high-tech electronics background required; familiarity with EDA toolchains and IP licensing structures is a strong differentiator.
  • • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements — royalty structures, limitation-of-liability provisions — in partnership with legal counsel.
  • • Experience with international vendor relationships including cross-border contracting and import/export compliance.
  • • Hands-on with procurement and ERP tools; NetSuite and Zip experience highly preferred.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to own and scale the indirect procurement function in a high-growth AI hardware startup.
  • • Direct impact on enabling AI innovation through strategic sourcing of critical IP, software, and lab equipment.
  • • Collaborative, inclusive culture rooted in respect, humility, and direct communication.
  • • Exposure to cutting-edge semiconductor and AI technologies via close partnership with Engineering and Lab Operations.
  • • Professional growth in building procurement infrastructure from scratch in a fast-moving, lean environment.
