- • The Senior Field Service Technician will provide hands-on service for ground support equipment (GSE) at customer sites, primarily in the Chicago area and across the continental U.S., with approximately 80% travel required.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and electric-powered vehicles, hydraulic systems, electrical control systems, and mechanical systems on aircraft tow tractors, container loaders, deicers, baggage and cargo transport vehicles, and other airport GSE.
- • Oshkosh AeroTech, part of Oshkosh Corporation, is a leading provider of aviation ground support products and services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handlers, and military customers, owning trusted brands such as LEKTRO®, JetAire®, JetPower®, AmpTek®, and Jetway®.
- • The role offers opportunities to develop advanced technical expertise in GSE systems, mentor junior technicians, participate in OEM testing and equipment upgrades, and gain experience working independently in diverse, multicultural environments while ensuring safe operating procedures at customer sites.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of relevant experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, or equivalent combination
- • Proficient in electrical diagnostics and repair, mechanical systems and component-level service, and hydraulic diagnostics and repair
- • Ability to travel up to 50-60% (approximately 80% travel expected for this role)
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
