- • A Sr Phlebotomist at Natera plays a critical role in supporting patient care by ensuring accurate and safe blood specimen collection, which is essential for diagnostic testing in oncology, women’s health, and organ health.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include verifying test requisitions and patient identification, performing venipunctures and finger sticks, maintaining specimen integrity through aseptic techniques, tracking specimen collection with detailed logging, and ensuring quality control by following procedures and reporting discrepancies.
- • The role involves handling Protected Health Information (PHI) in both paper and electronic formats, requiring completion of HIPAA, privacy, and security training within the first 30 days of hire, along with ongoing compliance with Natera’s training requirements.
- • The Sr Phlebotomist also supports operational functions such as logging and printing patient reports, triaging billing inquiries, scheduling courier pickups (FedEx or Medspeed), and contributing to departmental improvement by owning new requests and exploring ways to add value.
- • Working within Natera’s mission-driven environment, the individual will collaborate with a team of scientists, clinicians, and professionals dedicated to advancing genetic diagnostics, gaining experience in a high-impact healthcare setting while upholding the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient confidentiality.
- • This position is based onsite in Methuen, MA, and requires adherence to scrubs dress code and office-based work with physical demands related to specimen tracking and patient interaction.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience
- • High School Diploma or equivalent required
- • Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by state)
- • BS/BA degree preferred
- • Ability to adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, federal/state/local regulations, and JCAHO standards
- • Must complete HIPAA/PHI privacy, general policies, procedure compliance, and security training within first 30 days of hire
