  • • Own the end-to-end product vision for HighLevel’s native document generation and management layer, including Invoices, Estimates, Receipts, and Contracts, ensuring seamless integration with commercial workflows and payment collection.
  • • Lead the development of an AI-powered, drag-and-drop document builder that enables non-technical users to create fully customizable templates with type-specific fields, logic, and layouts for each document type.
  • • Define AI-assisted features that accelerate template creation, such as auto-generating layouts from prompts, suggesting relevant fields, and recommending content based on document type and business context.
  • • Establish standards for template management including saving, versioning, sharing, and consistent application across the platform.
  • • Own the automated commercial document lifecycle: from Estimate creation and customer acceptance → conversion to Invoice → payment collection → Receipt generation, including rules for partial payments, payment reminders, disputes, and failure handling.
  • • Design and ship HighLevel’s native e-signature product to compete directly with third-party contract tools, supporting single and multi-party signing, configurable signing order, decline flows, tamper-evident audit trails, and certificates of completion.
  • • Identify additional document types beyond Contracts that require signature workflows (e.g., Estimates requiring customer acceptance via signature) and design appropriate interaction models for each.
  • • Own the integration between Documents and the Product Information Management (PIM) system, enabling Invoices and Estimates to pull line items directly from a merchant’s catalog.
  • • Design an ad-hoc line item experience allowing users to add one-time items inline (e.g., field service reps creating invoices on-site) with clear options to save to catalog or keep as single-use entries.
  • • Collaborate with the PIM team to ensure catalog flexibility supports document use cases, including service-based products and ad-hoc line items.
  • • Partner with Commerce Operations to ensure document events (e.g., invoice issued, estimate accepted) correctly trigger downstream order and transaction workflows.
  • • Work closely with engineering and design teams to maintain high performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness across all document surfaces.
  • • Define success metrics including: users creating, sending, and collecting payment on a professional invoice in under five minutes; high adoption and reuse rates across all document types; reduced reliance on third-party e-signature tools; reliable automated document pipelines; and minimal drop-off in ad-hoc line item invoice completion rates.
  • • Drive product decisions that balance simplicity for non-technical users with depth for power users, ensuring the document builder is both intuitive and powerful.
  • • Build a product surface with significant cross-team dependencies, coordinating across engineering, design, operations, and PIM teams to deliver a unified commercial document experience.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8–10 years of product management experience
  • • Experience building document creation, form-builder, or workflow products
  • • Familiarity with payment or billing flows — invoicing, estimates, or financial document lifecycles
  • • Strong UX instincts with a track record of shipping complex, multi-step workflows that feel simple to users
  • • Ability to manage a product surface with significant cross-team dependencies
  • • Experience with e-signature, contract management, or legally binding document workflows (preferred)
  • • Experience building drag-and-drop, no-code, or AI-assisted visual builders (preferred)
  • • Background in B2B SaaS products serving small business financial workflows — billing, proposals, or payments (preferred)
  • • Familiarity with document generation at scale, including templating engines, PDF rendering, and delivery infrastructure (preferred)
