- • Partner with HR and senior hiring leaders (Manager through VP+) to design and execute forward-looking talent strategies for engineering, product, and design roles at BetterUp
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and executives, influencing org-level and requisition-level talent acquisition decisions with data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
- • Build creative, audacious, and scalable hiring strategies for full-lifecycle recruitment of technical R&D roles, including product, design, and engineering positions at all levels
- • Source aggressively across global talent pools using advanced boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, and innovative sourcing techniques to build diverse, high-quality top-of-funnel pipelines
- • Embed DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) practices into every stage of the sourcing, assessment, and hiring process to ensure equitable outcomes
- • Own the end-to-end candidate experience, from initial outreach through offer negotiation, ensuring each interaction authentically reflects BetterUp’s employer value proposition
- • Conduct thorough follow-up and follow-through at every stage of the hiring process to set clear expectations with hiring teams and maintain alignment on priorities and timelines
- • Assess candidates using structured evaluation methods to identify exceptional talent aligned with BetterUp’s culture and mission of human transformation
- • Close top-tier candidates by clearly articulating pre-IPO equity, total compensation packages, and the unique benefits of joining BetterUp, including access to personal coaching and development plans
- • Leverage recruiting data to identify bottlenecks, improve hiring quality, and increase assessment rigor across technical roles
- • Drive AI adoption within talent acquisition by building scalable AI-powered workflows for intelligent sourcing, candidate screening, automated scheduling, and pipeline analytics
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to TA leadership on the strategic implications, capabilities, and limitations of AI tools in technical hiring
- • Establish governance frameworks and best practices for responsible, ethical use of AI across the recruiting function
- • Upskill and influence recruiting peers by demonstrating how AI enhances — rather than replaces — human judgment in sourcing and assessment
- • Share concrete examples of using AI tools for outreach personalization, automation of repetitive tasks, or data-driven pipeline optimization during the interview process
- • Maintain fluency with ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, and creative sourcing strategies to maximize efficiency and impact in high-volume technical recruiting
- • Operate with extreme ownership, tenacious curiosity, and a builder’s mentality — proactively navigating competing priorities to deliver on critical hiring outcomes
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 4 years internally at a growth-stage startup
- • 4+ years of full-lifecycle technical recruiting for R&D roles (engineering, product, design)
- • Proven experience managing VP+ hiring partnerships as the primary recruiting point of contact
- • Track record of using recruiting data to improve hiring quality and assessment rigor
- • Fluency with ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean search, and creative sourcing strategies
- • Demonstrated experience applying AI tools in recruitment workflows (e.g., sourcing automation, screening, analytics)
