📋 Description
- • As a Sr. Sales Engineer at Proofpoint, you will serve as the technical sales lead throughout the pre-sales process, driving technical discussions with customers and prospects while supporting the South Africa Named Accounts team in developing and executing targeted account penetration strategies.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and championing complex People-Centric Security solutions across the full Proofpoint portfolio, providing customer insights to Product, Marketing, and Engineering teams, maintaining compliance with ISO, NIST, and MITRE frameworks, and presenting at industry seminars or trade shows as required.
- • You will join a global cybersecurity leader committed to protecting how people, data, and AI agents connect across email, cloud, and collaboration tools, guided by the BRAVE core values: Bold, Responsive, Accountable, Visionary, and Exceptional.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Email Security, Advanced Persistent Threats, Attack Protection, Threat Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and the evolving threat landscape, while gaining influence across product development and executive stakeholder conversations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Hands-on experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Sales/System Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Security Engineer, or senior product support/professional services, preferably in the cybersecurity industry
- • Proven experience in enterprise email solutions, email authentication, advanced persistent threats, data security, network security, cloud security, or shadow IT knowledge
- • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; CISSP or other security industry certification preferred
- • Exceptional presentation skills, with comfort presenting to technical staff and C-suite executives
- • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting
- • Proactive communicator who ensures alignment with Account Managers on customer activity, pipeline progress, and priorities
