- • Senior Software Engineer role at Metriport Inc., an open-source data intelligence platform enabling real-time patient data access and exchange for healthcare organizations, serving 300+ million individuals with multi-million ARR and 100+ customers.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include driving full-stack projects end-to-end from ideation to production, writing design docs, building and iterating on features (e.g., scaling services, managing infra costs, building OpenSearch clusters, transforming legacy hospital protocols, using LLMs for clinical note processing), reviewing PRs, managing work in Linear, participating in sprint planning and retrospectives, attending daily stand-ups, and engaging in on-call rotations to resolve customer issues and improve developer experience.
- • The team is a tight-knit, high-performing group of mostly former founders (including YC alumni), operating with minimal bureaucracy, high autonomy, and a founder-led culture that values competence over prestige, sustainable intensity, and output-based measurement.
- • In this role, you will develop deep ownership over impactful healthcare infrastructure, sharpen your full-stack and systems-thinking abilities, lead technical decisions, mentor peers through code reviews, and directly contribute to scaling a product that improves real-world patient data interoperability.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer with a strong backend focus
- • Experience developing and maintaining cloud-based platforms, including scaling, infrastructure as code, and monitoring
- • Experience processing large volumes of data across services, including transformation, consolidation, and building queryable systems
- • Located in San Francisco or Bay Area, or willing to relocate
- • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7, HIE, EHR/EMR, etc.) is a plus
