- • As a Sr. Software Engineer on Slack’s Datastores team, you will build and operate the database infrastructure powering Slack’s global communication platform, ensuring reliability and performance for millions of users.
- • Day to day, you will operate and enhance large-scale MySQL and Vitess-based database systems, develop self-service tools for other engineering teams, write code for performance monitoring and dashboards, collaborate on database needs across teams, and participate in on-call rotations to resolve production issues.
- • You’ll join a diverse and inclusive Core Infrastructure team at Salesforce that values collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence, supporting your growth while tackling some of the world’s most demanding database challenges.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and database scalability while contributing to systems that handle petabytes of data and billions of daily queries, directly impacting the reliability of a platform used by enterprises and startups worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (Green Card holder); visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
- • 5+ years of experience in data storage, core infrastructure, or distributed systems with increasing responsibilities.
- • Professional experience with Go, PHP/Hack, Python, Ruby, or Java.
- • Experience operating distributed systems at scale (e.g., MySQL, Postgres, Kafka, Cassandra, ElasticSearch) in a team environment.
- • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (especially AWS) and deployment automation tools like Chef, Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
- • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
