• • SHI International Corp. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Solutions Consultant specializing in Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) technologies to join our dynamic team. • • In this post-sales implementation role, you will be instrumental in assisting SHI's customers with their data center automation initiatives, guiding them through the transition to modern data center solutions and private clouds. Your expertise will be crucial in the low-level design and hands-on deployment of enterprise infrastructure and platforms, ensuring seamless integration and providing essential upgrade and migration services.
• • Key responsibilities include performing in-depth architecture analysis and design, executing system migrations, and conducting comprehensive systems engineering. You will be responsible for the successful design and implementation of critical technologies such as VMware VCF (both Brownfield and Greenfield deployments), VMware VCF (Aria) Automation, and automation/Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including Ansible, Terraform, and SaltStack.
• • Your technical acumen will extend to proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, PowerCLI, and JavaScript, enabling you to automate complex tasks and develop robust solutions. You will also be deeply involved in server virtualization and operations, vSAN, storage solutions, SAN, VMware NSX and general virtual networking, VMware Tanzu/VKS solutions, and hyperconverged infrastructure.
• • As a technical lead and subject matter expert, you will oversee project outcomes, guide the work of other consultants and engineers, and serve as a mentor, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster team growth. You will also contribute to pre-sales activities, participating in conversations, and planning for service engagements, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with client needs.
• • This role demands a proactive approach to staying abreast of the latest industry trends and offerings, ensuring SHI remains at the forefront of technological advancements. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship in both pre-sales and post-sales capacities, facilitating the successful understanding, evaluation, and adoption of our solutions by clients.
• • A key aspect of this role involves demonstrating long-term strategic thinking regarding our Infrastructure practice and client engagements. You will be expected to identify and take ownership of complex problem-solving initiatives, implement preventative measures, and collaborate effectively to drive successful outcomes. Your communication skills will be vital in conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and facilitating effective communication among team members.
• • Adaptability and leadership are crucial, as you will work within complex team initiatives, collaborate in decision-making, and drive team performance. Your ability to write, debug, and maintain code in various scripting and programming languages will be essential for automating tasks and developing software solutions.
• • This role requires an advanced understanding and management of various infrastructure components, including firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, and security. Extensive experience working on large-scale IT projects related to deployment and configuration is expected. The position is remote, with a home office setup determined by SHI management, and may require occasional travel.
