đź“‹ Description
- • The Sr. Systems Engineer, ProAV serves as a critical technical expert for NETGEAR’s ProAV solutions across the Northeast U.S., bridging customer success, field engineering, and pre-sales support to ensure seamless deployment and adoption of advanced AV-over-IP technologies. This role is pivotal in transforming complex technical requirements into reliable, production-ready systems that power professional audiovisual environments in broadcast, corporate, education, and live event settings.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading customer onboarding for NETGEAR ProAV switches and third-party integrations, collaborating closely with the Northeast Sales Territory Manager to align technical execution with sales goals, and delivering comprehensive remote and on-site training on AV-over-IP network design, switch profile selection, PTP configuration, Dante/AVB/Milan protocols, API integration, and video configuration. The engineer develops customized training materials, system designs, and knowledge base documentation to ensure smooth transitions into production, particularly for complex multi-switch and multi-vendor deployments.
- • In professional services and field engineering, the role involves providing advanced on-site troubleshooting for high-profile customers facing intricate timing, multicast, or interoperability challenges—capturing logs, performing packet traces, replicating issues in lab environments, and delivering real-time diagnostics. The engineer supports commissioning of AV-over-IP systems to guarantee stable performance and resolves escalated issues involving AVB, Dante/AES67, NVX, Q-SYS, SMPTE-2059-2, PTPv2, and multicast networking.
- • As a pre-sales engineering contributor, the Sr. Systems Engineer partners with Sales, Business Development, and Channel teams to provide technical scoping, solution design, and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation. They conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations, assist in system architecture planning, and offer competitive analysis and technical positioning to strengthen NETGEAR’s market presence in the U.S. ProAV landscape.
- • Internally, the engineer develops and maintains automation tools, configuration utilities, and deployment scripts to streamline troubleshooting—such as log analysis tools, profile validators, and configuration parsers—while authoring best practice guides, training content, and knowledge base articles that elevate team proficiency and customer self-service capabilities.
- • The role includes representing NETGEAR at U.S. industry conferences and partner events, delivering technical workshops and presentations on AV-over-IP advancements, providing roadmap overviews, and supporting event-based network deployments and multi-vendor interoperability demonstrations to showcase NETGEAR’s leadership in ProAV innovation.
- • The engineer gains deep expertise in cutting-edge AV-over-IP ecosystems, including hands-on experience with SMPTE standards, Dante, AVB, Q-SYS, and NVX technologies, while mastering NETGEAR’s API-driven configuration processes and switch profile development. Through real-world problem-solving in high-stakes environments, they refine advanced troubleshooting methodologies and become a trusted advisor to both customers and internal teams.
- • This role offers significant professional growth in systems architecture, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration—positioning the engineer as a subject matter expert whose work directly influences product adoption, customer satisfaction, and NETGEAR’s competitive edge in the professional AV market.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in networking systems, AV-over-IP technologies, or related systems engineering roles
- • Deep knowledge of ProAV networking products, AV-over-IP technologies, multicast networking and IGMP, switch profile development, and NETGEAR API and configuration processes
- • Hands-on deployment and field troubleshooting experience with AVB, Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron, SMPTE-2059-2, and multicast networks
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-based position with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.
- • Opportunity to travel up to 60% across the Northeast region, engaging with diverse customers and industry events
- • Access to cutting-edge ProAV technologies and involvement in shaping NETGEAR’s market strategy through technical innovation and customer collaboration
